Faye is the Managing Director of Burrell Foley Fischer with two decades of experience of working on sensitive conservation projects from alterations to the creative reuse of historic buildings. She has a Post Graduate Diploma in Building Conservation from the Architectural Association and is a Specialist Conservation Architect on the RIBA Register of Conservation Architects.

An operational specialist, Faye is able to bring technical and administrative skills to any project, takes a client-focused approach to understanding their needs and brief, and follows this through to site and completion by engaging with contractors, craftspeople and statutory authorities to ensure a project is a success. She holds a Principal Designer Qualification.

She has experience with a wide variety of building types/eras from timber frame Tudor buildings, medieval castles, Georgian Town Houses, and Victorian theatres to Twentieth Century architecture. Her design philosophy is elegant simplicity, through careful detailing and considered interventions.

Faye’s understanding of historic contexts, be it social, cultural or physical, enables the practice to obtain successful Planning and Listed Building Consent approvals, often on complex sites. Her primary focus is on the efficient delivery of projects, achieved through her extensive technical and construction experience, which helps ensure schemes are built to quality, time and budget.

Her recently completed projects include York Guildhall, including Grade I, II* and II Listed Buildings and winner of the 2022 John Shannon Conservation Award, and Birmingham Roundhouse, Grade II*, for the National Trust and the Canal and River Trust. She is currently leading the restoration of Highbury Hall Birmingham, Grade II*, for the Chamberlain Highbury Trust and the Grade II* Winter Gardens in Great Yarmouth, a magnificent cast-iron structure and the last survivor of a British seaside tradition.

Faye is passionate about architecture and sharing her skills beyond the immediate Project Team. Her reputation has grown to the point where she is considered an expert in her own right, regularly delivering lectures and workshops to other professionals, sharing her passion and enthusiasm for architecture, urban design and sustainable conservation. Faye is a Trustee of the Covent Garden Area Trust and a Specialist Advisor to the Theatres Trust.
